True Life Stories: 2020 Network ID
I got a job with a #Dell computer reseller. Fly for training to #Miami. Meet executives. Everything is going great.
This was a brand new program. Much of it was on the fly & to be determined.
Fly home.
Wait 3 days for what we were going to do. Write biz plan and get list of Indiana colleges & universities.
I'm ready.
I get a call.
They've reorganized territories and don't need Indiana after all. It's going to Missouri or Kansas.
I'm told that my network & email access were being terminated as of this meeting.
I joked (as I'm wont to do in stressful situations) exaggeratedly say
"Big difference that is going to make."
They were actually offended.
Oh well. They had a problem with it and as this sentence clearly states; it was their problem. Not mine.
They already fired me. What are they going to do? Take my birthday away?
Two days after my termination, I received my network ID, email address and such.
For a job I was already let go from.
I don't think I'm going to ever get the return instructions for the 2 laptops I had.
Pretty unlikely after 4 years.
This has been a Mark Brown True Life Story.
